Britomart's New Boutique Hotel
October 1st will mark the opening of New Zealand’s first 5 Green Star hotel in Auckland’s ever evolving downtown district…
The Hotel Britomart is a sustainably spectacular piece of architecture, built on the corner of Gore & Galway Streets in the bustling Britomart precinct of downtown Auckland. The Hotel Britomart has committed to sustainable practices and the use of environmentally friendly, locally sourced products earning a 5 star Green rating. The building is clad in a striking handmade brick encasing calm, timber lined rooms. The irregular constellation of windows scattered across the exterior is replicated in the hotel logo and represents the diverse blocks that make up the Britomart neighbour.
The rooms will have stunning views of the Auckland harbour. The property's ground floor will be home to new retail outlets bars and eateries, including Kingi, a new seafood-focused restaurant from Tom Hishon and Josh Helm of Orphans Kitchen.
For our part, we’ve designed a robust and stylish umbrella to keep the hotel’s guest sheltered from the Auckland weather. The vented style means it will survive any strong sea breezes that may blow in off the gulf and a subtle use of their creative branding.
